Discover the heart of our bustling Minneapolis campus! Our tour guides will lead you on a tour of the Minneapolis East Bank campus, home to world-class programs and facilities where you can picture yourself as a Golden Gopher — connecting with classmates in our tech-forward learning labs at Bruininks Hall, studying in the green grass of Northrop Mall, and marveling at the Minneapolis skyline. Ideal for students interested in liberal arts, education, nursing, and engineering. This tour is generalized for all students and will showcase key areas on campus.

A residence hall tour is included in the Minneapolis East Bank and West Bank Campus tour options. Getting a glimpse of your new home is important, however, we have current Gophers living in all ResHalls so our visit will be limited based on availability. You can take a virtual tour of ResHall rooms anytime! We have 360-degree photos of different room types and video walkthroughs of our buildings. These are available under the "Room Types" option on any building webpage. Check out all of the student housing buildings for more information!

You’ll explore a global community where you can visualize your future — collaborating in the atrium of the Carlson School of Management, immersing yourself with the arts in the West Bank Arts District, and taking in stunning views of the river and natural parks surrounding campus from the Washington Avenue Bridge. Ideal for students interested in fine arts, business, and social sciences. This tour is generalized for all students and will showcase key areas on campus.

Weisman Art Museum

Visit the Weisman Art Museum

Visit the Weisman Art Museum (WAM), UMN's campus art museum for a self-guided tour of our exhibitions. WAM has a collection of more than 30,000 works of art and presents new exhibitions every semester. Experience this vital node of cultural life on campus, connecting students and community.

The main visitor entrance is located on the North side of the building, off Washington Avenue pedestrian bridge (East Bank).

Traveling to Weisman Art Museum

We recommend that you walk to Weisman Art Museum (333 E River Rd, Minneapolis, MN 55455) from the Northrop Plaza. Parking at WAM is extremely limited with only 120 total spaces. If you would like to park near WAM, we recommend the East River Road Garage. Once parked at East River Road, you may access Coffman Memorial Union and walk through to Northrop for the day's programming.

If you plan to park in the Weisman Art Museum parking garage, take the elevators up to level 1. Rates for parking are $3 an hour and a $13 daily maximum.
Accessible Parking: The museum’s ramp is open 24/7 and includes five designated disability parking spaces in close proximity to the museum elevator. Parking is free for up to three hours if a state disability permit or license plate is properly displayed.

The Bell Museum is Minnesota’s official natural history museum, open Wednesday-Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Check out the Bell’s website to see what exhibits are currently on display.

Note: the Bell Museum is on our St. Paul campus. We recommend ending your day here to account for travel time and to enjoy the open house. You may drive yourself or hop on a campus shuttle. To learn more about shuttle options, check out the Campus Connector schedule.

Traveling to Bell Museum

The Bell Museum is located on our St. Paul Campus at 2088 Larpenteur Ave W, St Paul, MN 55113. We recommend driving and parking at the Bell Museum Lot at the end of the day, or you may take a Campus Connector bus via Route 121

The main entrance is fully accessible from the parking lot. A drop off and pick up area is available near the building entrance, before entering through the pay stations.
