Why they chose the University of Minnesota Twin Cities
I chose the University of Minnesota Twin Cities because of the great financial aid package it offered, the beautiful campus, and the number of resources and community support it had to help a Hmong Asian American student like me navigate college.
Favorite University of Minnesota Class
My favorite U of M class would have to be FSOS 1101, or otherwise known as Intimate Relationships. It taught me so much about how to create and value healthy relationships. It also taught me a lot about how to recognize toxic patterns in my relationships and even within myself! This class was one I thought I wouldn't need but I'm so glad I took!
Favorite Student Organization
Hmong Minnesota Student Association
Favorite U of M Memory
My favorite U of M memory would have to be exploring campus and Dinkytown with my friends during Freshman year of college. It was the first time I truly felt independent and realized that I was entering such a monumental time in my life; I was finally a real college student.
Most Inspirational U of M Alum
Everyone who's ever graduated from the U of M has gone off to do great things!
Favorite Random Fact about the University
The U of M makes their own ice cream! You can try out their innovative ice cream flavors on the Saint Paul campus at Gopher Spot!
Best Place to Study on Campus
There are always empty classrooms in every building. When all the other orthodox places to study were full or too crowded, it'd sometimes be fun to pop into a random dark empty classroom if no classes were scheduled, and you'd have a big room all to yourself to study in peace.
The One Experience Students Shouldn't Miss
STUDY ABROAD or study in another state/US territory through the National Student exchange Program! I spent a semester in Hawaii and got to take classes that counted towards my degree. Don't look back and regret not exploring the world during such a prime time in your life!!!
