Transfer Admissions Requirements: College of Continuing and Professional Studies

The College of Continuing and Professional Studies (CCAPS) offers courses and programs for a wide range of student populations. While not a freshman-admitting college, CCAPS offers individualized and applied bachelor's degrees to upper-division students in the following areas:

CCAPS programs can be completed through a combination of day, evening, online, and blended courses.

Admission Criteria

Bachelor of Applied Science Degrees (B.A.Sc.)

The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree is designed for career-minded students and includes majors in Construction Management, Health Services Management, and Information Technology Infrastructure.

Pre-major Admission

Most successful applicants will have a minimum of 30 transferable credits completed by the end of spring semester prior to fall enrollment or by the fall semester prior to spring enrollment and demonstrated interest in the field. Use the major Transfer Guides to ensure credits will transfer to the University of Minnesota and count towards the degree requirements.

  • Information Technology Infrastructure
    • 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Prerequisite of CSCI 1103 or 1113 or 1133 with a grade of C- or higher completed by the end of spring semester prior to fall enrollment or completed by the end of fall semester prior to spring enrollment

Inter-College Program (ICP) and Multidisciplinary Studies (MdS)

Admission for  Individualized Degrees, including the Inter-College Program (ICP), and Multidisciplinary Studies (MdS) is handled directly by CCAPS. Students may contact [email protected] or 612-624-4000 with questions about prerequisites for these programs.

Typically, all ICP and MdS students begin the admission process by attending a group information session. Students who are unable to attend a group information session are encouraged to schedule a one-on-one session with an adviser.
