Why you chose the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities: Along with the diversity, great academics and exciting atmosphere, I knew that I wanted to be in Minneapolis. I grew up in a very small town so I knew that coming to the U of M would push me out of my comfort zone.
Favorite University of Minnesota Class: All of my leadership minor courses! These were the best because I not only learned a ton of great concepts and theories, but I learned a lot about myself. They are all based around personal development and you are amongst peers who are also looking to grow. It’s a very positive atmosphere!
Favorite Student Organization: I was very heavily involved in my work at the Recreation and Wellness Center. I was able to get to know my colleagues and supervisors extremely well and it was definitely a second home. I was able to develop my professional skills and also have a lot of fun doing it!
Favorite U of M Memory: I got the chance to study abroad for a semester in England during my junior year. I lived in a castle where Harry Potter was filmed and had a blast touring the country. Besides from making life-long friends and unforgettable memories, I also was able to volunteer within the community and gain a global perspective.
Favorite Random Fact about the University: The creators of the Honeycrisp apple!
Best Place to Study on Campus: I loved to study at the Recreation and Wellness Center. There was always a lot of energy and I prefer to study when there is plenty of other noise going on. Plus- I worked there all four years of college so I was always running into friends to serve as a study break!
The One Experience Students Shouldn’t Miss: Welcome week as a whole. It’s a great way to get to know your peers and get introduced to your adventure ahead!
