Why she chose the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities: I craved the big school experience. I wanted to have the ability to choose where and how I spent my time. The University of Minnesota has so many opportunities that students can take advantage of: research, student groups, Greek Life, internships, study abroad and so much more! I knew that if I decided to go to the U, I would never get bored.
Favorite University of Minnesota Class: LEAD 1961W | Personal Leadership in the University
This is the first class of the Leadership Minor and it was unlike any other class I have ever taken before! It gave me the opportunity to reflect on how my identities and past experiences affect the way I show up in the world.
Favorite Student Organization: The Kappa Pi Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated! Through this life-long sisterhood, I have been able to gain incredible leadership experience, give back to my community, and travel all across the country for conferences and step shows.
Best Place to Study on Campus: There are a bunch of places to study on campus! But my top three would have to be:
Favorite U of M Memory: There are too many to pick from! But I've noticed that a lot of my fondest memories have come from the time I spent in the Black Student Union. Not only is it an amazing student organization that host a ton of great events, but it's also a physical space in Coffman Memorial Union (room 209). It's where I've met most of my closest friends, learned that card games like Uno and Spoons should be an Olympic sport but also have had so many intense conversations ranging from the current political climate to debates like J. Cole vs. Kendrick [Lamar].
