Why she chose the University of Minnesota Twin Cities: I chose the University of Minnesota because of the breadth of major options it offered and the unique location in the Twin Cities.
Favorite University of Minnesota Class: Plant Propagation – this class helped me find my major!
Favorite Student Organization: The Pride of Minnesota Marching Band
Favorite U of M Memory: Traveling to London over spring break to teach horticulture classes to K-12 students and explore the gardens of the area. When the class returned to Minnesota we also taught horticulture to students in K-12 classes in the metro area.
Most Inspirational U of M Alum: Norman Borlaug who saved thousands by developing a type of disease resistant wheat.
Favorite Random Fact about the University: Professors in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences breed many fruits, flowers, and vegetables, including the Honeycrisp apple, La Crescent wine grapes, and Northern Lights azaleas.
Best Place to Study on Campus: Across the street from the greenhouses on St Paul campus, the Horticultural Trial Garden has a patio area with tables and chairs. Not many people know about it and it's a great place to study or relax surrounded by flowers and plants.
The One Experience Students Shouldn't Miss: Every November the Minnesota Marching Band has their Indoor Concert at Northrop Auditorium. They get to showcase the music they played during their shows that year and highlight all the talented musicians they have in their ranks.
