Why they chose the University of Minnesota Twin Cities
I chose to come here for many reasons, but the deciding factor was the incredible community we have here on campus. People talk a lot about "Minnesota Nice," and I can say from experience that students, faculty and staff on this campus are exceptionally nice! I wanted a place to belong and others to support me through my college experience, and I definitely found that here.

Favorite Student Organization
The Citizen Student Movement - a student group I actually started! It focuses on encouraging everyday people to work across their differences and create meaningful change in their communities.
Favorite U of M Memory
My first Gopher football game ever! During my freshman year Welcome Week before classes started, my friends and I arrived really early to snag front row seats and made appearances on the Jumbo-Tron many times! I'm really proud to say that after that day I cheered at almost every single home game over my next four years of college.
Most Inspirational U of M Alum/Figure
Alan Page - he was both an NFL football player for the Vikings and a Minnesota Supreme Court Justice!
Favorite Random fact about the University
Cheerleading was invented at the University of Minnesota in 1898!
Best Place to Study on Campus
Third floor of Wilson Library. It's usually really quiet and I love that. It also houses many books on social sciences and humanities, and sometimes I catch myself browsing through books in the stacks instead of studying!
The One Experience Students Shouldn't Miss
Definitely studying abroad. I did a semester in Ecuador and it was hands down my favorite part of college. I got to create amazing relationships across different cultures and even conducted an independent research project on women's empowerment in rural Ecuador. I also did lots of salsa dancing and got up on a surfboard for the first time!
