Secondary School Document Submission

For International Freshman Applicants Only

The following secondary school documents are required to complete your University of Minnesota Twin Cities admission application:

  • Transcript or academic record from each secondary school/high school you have attended for grades 9-11 in the original language and an English translation. Please include any certificates or results for any exams you may have taken from grades 9-11 (this includes IGCSE, O-level, and CBSE Secondary School Examination results).
  • Any predicted grades for your final exams (this includes the International Baccalaureate diploma, A-levels, etc.)
  • If you have already graduated from secondary school: a final exam certificate or diploma that shows all coursework completed and grades received for any secondary school exams (IGCSE, O, AS or A level, HKDSE, SPM, WAEC, CBSE, etc.)

Instructions for how to send us your secondary school documents electronically are included below. Important note: it is your responsibility to ensure that all items are received by the application deadline. You can use our Application Tracker to verify that the University has received your submitted documents. (Please note that items generally appear within 10 days.)

Exception: If your secondary school sends transcripts using Naviance, Parchment or another electronic vendor, please ask your school to send your documents for you.

If you are completing your application through the Common Application, please have your school counselor, teacher, or registrar submit your transcripts and any other academic documents through the Common Application.

Documents received electronically through these services from your school are considered official.

International freshmen who are offered admission and confirm their enrollment will be required to send official secondary school transcripts and proof of graduation to the Office of Admissions before they are eligible to register for classes. Official transcripts will be very carefully reviewed against previously submitted transcripts and admission offers will be rescinded for any altered, modified, or falsified documents, the I20 will be cancelled, and the student will NOT be allowed to enroll at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

  1. Request paper copies of your secondary school documents and English translations.
  2. Scan your secondary school documents as PDF or JPEG documents.
  3. Complete the information below.
  4. Attach your documents.
  5. Click Submit.
