The College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) offers students an extraordinary education with 14 majors and 22 minors based in solution-driven science. CFANS also offers one pre-major and two pre-professional programs. The Pre-bioproducts and biosystems engineering major is an undergraduate course of study that specifically prepares you for entrance into the Institute of Technology's upper-division Bioproducts and biosystems engineering major.

Prerequisite coursework:
- All applicants to CFANS must have completed intermediate algebra with a passing grade.
- All applicants must demonstrate a solid foundation in math and science.
- It is highly recommended that applicants to the majors of Applied Economics or Agricultural and Food Business Management complete college algebra with a grade of C or higher, AND completed microeconomics or macroeconomics with a grade of B- or higher. Preferred cumulative GPA is 2.8 or higher.
- Most successful applicants to majors Food Science and Nutrition have completed one semester of inorganic chemistry with lab, and one semester or general biology with lab, with grades of C- or better. Preferred cumulative GPA is 2.8 or higher.
- Most successful applicants who wish to pursue the emphasis of Pre-Vet in the Animal Science major AND intend to apply to Veterinary School will have completed college algebra, one semester (or more) or general chemistry with lab, and one semester or general biology with lab, with grades of B or higher. Preferred cumulative GPA for this emphasis in Animal Science is 3.0 or higher.

Campus Visits
- We offer one-on-one visits Monday and Friday mornings from 9:00 am to noon on the St. Paul campus. During your visit, you can learn more about your major of interest, the transfer process and go on a tour of the St. Paul campus. Please contact a CFANS transfer counselor directly to set up your campus visit!
- New! Nutrition and Food Science Transfer Information Session: At this session, you will learn about the Nutrition and Food Science programs, find out about transfer admissions requirements, and get answers to all of your questions about applying to these two exciting majors. The session is held from 10:15 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. on selected dates, with an optional campus tour afterward. Click here to register.
